Given that his father was Leonard Bernstein’s assistant, David Gamson was always bound to end up working with music. Something of a renaissance man, over the past thirty years he has honed his songwriting, arrangement, production and performance skills with some of the world’s biggest talents.
He first enjoyed success as a member of cult British act Scritti Politti around their Cupid & Pysche ‘85 and Provision albums – he played keyboards and helped cultivate their soulful sound – and later reunited with them for 1999’s ‘Anomie & Bonhomie’. He joined Warner Brothers in 1990 as a staff producer and A&R, staying with them for five years and working especially closely with Me’Shell NdegéOcello. David Gamson has also written for or co-written with the likes of Chaka Khan, Luther Vandross, Donny Osmond and even Cypress Hill, has written for TV and film, and has produced Madonna and Sheila E. alongside a number of film and TV soundtracks.
